Annual Parish Meeting - Brief Synopsis - 2

Simon Ross from Much Wenlock gave a very interesting talk on his views about Sustainable Living. He detailed the science for and against potential and existing problems, explained his plans for sustainability in Much Wenlock, and his own efforts and plans to reduce his own Carbon Footprint.

County Councillor Margaret Winckler gave a brief report on what had been achieved at County level - such as efforts on Carer Support for the Elderly in their own homes, Child welfare projects, and Waste Management improvements. She also talked briefly about the Unitary authority proposals, although she was unable to enter any discussion on this subject due to the forthcoming local elections.

Claverley Parish Council — Apparently there are currently 5 vacancies on the new council.

The 2006 minutes having been distributed at the meeting, were approved.

Matters arising :-

PARISH PLAN - Sally Dawes reported the 10 year Implementation period is under way

 - Housing - SSHA affordable housing proposal is under discussion within the community etc.

 - Roads & Transport - Report will be published soon on the Parish Website

 - Youth Group - proving difficult to get started due to lack of support from the youth themselves. However a recent trip was a small success, and further trips are proposed. Special thanks to Sarah Cawdell and Barry for their efforts to date.

 - Royal Mail - WV15 code for all the Parish has been rejected by Royal Mail at this stage — the necessary Staff transfers from Wombourne to Bridgnorth not economically viable. — Will be followed up again at some future date.

 - Environment - various projects underway including the Sutton Road roadside pool. The Claverley Sustainable Energy pack is now available from Gill Price, and a copy will be on the Website shortly.
